COME & DINE

Food & Frolic

by

Abigail Brown Collins

In Come & Dine, Abigail Brown Collins joins merriment and laughter as well as the wit and wisdom of the ages to what is perhaps one of our most favorite pastimes-preparing and eating a delicious meal. Not only do we find sumptuous recipes for appetizers, soups, salads, breads, main dishes and desserts, we get a bit of frivolity and fun, too, with a dash of wisdom from the ages. Come & Dine is a reflection of Abigail's own life style and lessons drawn from a life of service to people who have suffered from Spasmodic Torticollis. Having herself suffered from the disease and overcome it through a disciplined regimen of exercise and iron will, Abigail established the Spasmodic Torticollis Recovery Clinic, Inc. in hopes of helping others like herself. Most of her recipes come from the menus of the clinic. Now, of course, we don't have to be at Abbie's clinic to eat her great food. Her recipes are all right here, between the covers of Come & Dine.

Reviews

"How do you express in words food that is not only nutritious but fabulous? You cannot, you have to experience it for yourself... During my stay in Abbie's clinic, I have learned to appreciate GREAT food. If I lived in Santa Fe, you'd better believe I would be eating at Abbie's clinic everyday." Deb Perchetti, Tonopah, Nevada

"The recipes in Come and Dine are a true treasure for any cook. They are easy to follow and do not require extensive preparation. As a working mother with three children who also loves to prepare gourmet recipes, I am able to have the best of both worlds: the enjoyment of cooking as well as spending time with my family." Laurie Smith Garner, licensed physical therapist and member of the Bon Appetit Club of Placitas, NM

What an honor to be invited to the delicious offerings of Abigail Brown Collins table! What scrumptious entrees, what delectable memories, what tempting hors d'oeurves, what warm and hearty breadstuffs, their aromas nearly jumping off the pages and filling the room - what tasty stories! Always you will be fed in many worlds, not least by the strong and stalwart faith that is an ingredient in every dish. Truly this is soul food at many levels! Come and Feast. Judyth Hill, Restaurant Critic for the Santa Fe New Mexican, Food Writer for the Albuquerque Journal Special Sections and the Santa Fean Magazine
